Introduction to Using the Rye Public Library

The Rye Public Library welcomes you as a patron and borrower. Please take a moment to review the following information about our borrowing policies and collections.

Library Cards

Though not mandatory, it is helpful to have your library card available when borrowing library materials.  Parents are responsible for materials borrowed by their minor children. We recommend that children six (6) years of age and older apply for a library card.

A Word to Parents

We are happy to assist you and your children in finding materials in the library.  The policy of the Rye Public Library is that all patrons, regardless of age, are welcome to use the many resources we offer; the decision regarding age-appropriateness is left to parental discretion.  If you have any questions about books or materials in other formats, please do not hesitate to ask.  We are eager to assist in locating desired resources for you and your family.

Borrower Policy

Who may use the Rye Public Library?
