Trivia Night

Think you know Greek mythology and Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series? Come to our trivia night on Thursday, May 26th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Eat food, win prizes, test your knowledge, and have fun! If you dare, you could even dress up as a character from Greek Mythology! All are welcome who love Greek Mythology.

Commute Green NH

SPRING is here – with good weather returning and gas prices on the rise, there’s no better time to leave your car at home and start having more fun getting to work!

The Seacoast’s 9th Annual Bike/Walk to Work Day is Friday May 20th. Ride your bike, ride transit, walk or carpool to work, and stop in at one of nine free Commuter Breakfasts around the region. Enjoy a delicious free breakfast and sign-in to enter a raffle for groovy prizes donated by local businesses.

Breakfast locations include Dover, Durham/UNH, Exeter, Lee, North Hampton, Pease Tradeport, Portsmouth Downtown, Rye, and Stratham. Participate in the Tour de Breakfast and stop at each one!

The week of May 16th-20th will also see the 5th Annual Seacoast Commute Challenge. Sign up your workplace or school, and rally your co-workers to bike, walk, ride transit, or carpool for as many days during the week as you can. Win bragging rights and the Commuter Challenge Trophy!  There are three size categories for workplaces: small (1-15 employees), medium sized (16-199 employees), and large (200+ employees).

In addition to the regional Commuter Challenge, individuals, companies and schools can also sign up for the Statewide Commute Green NH Challenge with categories for most miles bicycled, walked, ridden on transit or in a carpool.

Theatre Games

Join Sarah Labadie of Petite Players for an hour of silliness, hilarity and fun! With games featuring theatrical elements, comedic stylings and tons of movement there are sure to be a million laughs.

Beading Euphoria

Tuesday, April 19, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Grades 5 – 12 are invited to sign up for this beading session. Today we are going to make a crocheted necklace.

Knitting With Mary

Bring in your knitting projects and questions for help and good conversation. Every Thursday morning from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM by the fireplace on the Main Level. Be A Library Star!

National Library Week is April 10th through 16th, and we want you to help wish the Rye Public Library a Happy 100th Birthday by making an audio or video recording with us.

Stop in on Wednesday, April 13th or Thursday, April 14th between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM to record a video message, or come in to record an audio message any time during the week. We may use your message in our video birthday card to debut during our Centennial Celebration in June 2011!
