TRANSPORTATION TO THE LIBRARY VIA THE SENIOR SERVE VAN
Through the generous support of the Friends of the Rye Public Library, transportation to the library is available for seniors on selected Monday afternoons via the Senior SERVE van. Join your friends and neighbors at this fun, weekly social gathering (once a month during the winter months). For additional Senior SERVE services, please visit the Town of Rye website.
SEACOAST AREA CLUBS AND RESOURCES
Active Retirement Association – Seacoast residents 50 years or older can enjoy programs offered by the Active Retirement Association (ARA) an outreach service of the University“ of New Hampshire.“ The annual membership fee is $45 and includes lectures, discussion groups, interest sessions, and health related activities. Wentworth Connections – A nonprofit organization with a clear and unwavering focus: to enhance the health and quality of life of seniors and those who care for them. Their primary goal is to provide the support seniors need to continue living at home. Rye Over 55 Club – This active local club holds monthly lunches in the Rye Congregational Church’s Fellowship Hall.“ For a current list of trips and activities please call club president, Shirley Harper at 431-4893. The Senior Citizens Center at Parrott Avenue Place – A multi-purpose community center for senior residents of Portsmouth and neighboring communities. Available services include a daily meal program, transportation for medical appointments, shopping, etc., health clinic sessions, social activities and outings. ServiceLink – “Established in 200, ServiceLink is a statewide network of locally administered community-based resources for seniors, adults with disabilities and their families.“ ServiceLink is a free information, referral, and assistance service, with local offices in 13 communities . . . ServiceLink answers questions and connects users to the appropriate services that support healthy and independent living.”
