Sew What? May 2013

Come to Pam Anthony and Lisa’s  youth craft, sewing, knitting, or crocheting time at the library! We’ll provide a project, but you are welcome to bring whatever you might be working on.

We  meet on the first and third Fridays of the month from 3:00 to 4:30 PM. Our May dates are the 3rd and 17th. On May 3rd we will be making Mother’s Day cards.  Please join us!

LEGO Mania

We have TONS of LEGOS and would love to have you come and build something!“  At each session, we’ll have a “challenge” for you, like “Build a structure that can predict tornadoes” or “Build an alien space home”…or you can build whatever you want!

Meets on First Monday of the month during the school year from 3:00 – 4:30 in the Community Meeting Room.Our May meeting will be Monday the 6th. Join us! **Parents, please remember, only children aged 8+ may be left in the library without supervision.

Book Bites – An after-school book group for kids grades 3-5 (age 8-10)

Our May meeting will be Wednesday the 22nd from from 3:15-4:00 PM.  This month we will be reading Mr. Popper’s Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater.  We hope you can join Lisa for this fun group which incorporates books, food, and crafts. Sign-up preferred, but you can just drop in, too.

 

Mother Goose on the Loose!

We are pleased to offer a new program in the youth department:

Mother Goose on the Loose!

This is a thirty minute interactive session that uses songs and rhymes, puppets and musical instruments, to stimulate the learning process of babies and toddlers. We  meet Fridays from 10:00 to 10:30 AM in the Community Meeting Room. Theatre Games

We are happy to offer sessions of Sarah Labadie’s Theatre Games for grades K-3 on Thursday April 18th from 3:30-4:30PM and for grades 4-8 on Thursday April 18th from 4:30-5:30PM.

Prop games! Pantomime games! Disco Light Freeze dance!

Beading Euphoria

bead braceletYouth and Teen Beading Euphoria will meet Thursday, March 28th (rescheduled from March 21st)  from 3:00 – 5:00 PM for experienced “beaders” or those in grades 5 – 12.  Learn to make a “Wavy Tila Bead” bracelet!  This beading session features the steps to make this beautiful bracelet – a supply list of materials will be provided. Sign-up is required; limit 8 students in the class.
