“Scentsational” Dough Herbal Youth Program

Lisa will be holding a “Scentsational Dough” herb program for youth on Wednesday, March 29th from 3:30 – 4:30pm.

We will be making and experimenting with Herbal Play-dough! Sign up will be required. You won’t want to miss this fun natural program with Herbalist Natasha! She will be sharing books, and providing ingredients to make and play with lovely lavender lemon scented play dough.

Dumbledore’s Army next meets on Tuesday April 7th from 6:00 to 7:30PM. We meet on the first Tuesday of  the month. All Ages are welcome!

This once-a-month group meets in the room of requirement to do Harry Potter-related crafts, eat HP-related foods, watch movies, discuss books, do read-alouds, have trivia nights, read and/or write fan-fic…whatever we can think up related to the Wizarding World!  I assure you, it is a blast!

Parents, please remember, only children aged 8+ may be left in the library without supervision. Please call the library if you have any questions.

 

Teen After-Hours Friday Night Movie April 7th

Teens: Join Lisa at 5:00PM for an after hours flick! Tonight’s movie is Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It  is rated PG-13 and runs for 132 minutes.  Dinner and snacks included!

This movie tells the adventures of writer Newt Scamander in New York’s secret community of witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book in school.  Something mysterious is leaving a path of destruction in the streets of 1926 New York, threatening to expose the wizarding community.

Turn the Page Cafe–After School Snack Wednesday April 12th


We’re making easy snacks for youth and teens in our “Turn the Page Cafe” — delicious snacking and snack-making!   We will meet on Wednesday April 12th from 3:00 to 4:00PM. By popular demand, this time we are again making apple and cheddar quesadillas! If you like to cook (or eat), this is for you!

Youth Beading March 22nd- New project!

Lisa will be holding a beading craft class for grade 5+ and up on Wednesday, March 22nd from 3:00 – 5:00pm.

This gorgeous sewn bead bracelet looks difficult to make, but actually, once a few steps are learned, it’s sheer repetition and creativity with color.  It’s called a “3-drop peyote stitch” and once learned, the possibilities for design are endless!
Over four or five sessions – depending on the beaders – we will be learning how to make the bracelet!  All supplies provided by the library.  Just show up ready to learn!

When Jacob discovers clues to a mystery that stretches across time, he finds Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. But the danger deepens after he gets to know the residents and learns about their special powers. This adventure drama is directed by Tim Burton and is based on a novel by Ransom Riggs.

Crazy 8s Math Club Season 3 New session update

Math Gone WCrazy 8s Logoild!!! Crazy 8s Math Club for Grades 3-5 will meet Mondays, 3:15 to 4:15 PM for 8 weeks. We had planned to begin on February 13th, however due to the snow storm, we will now begin on the 20th.  (No meeting on February 27th during school vacation week.)

This is a SUPER FUN math club; please sign-up and plan to attend all 8 weeks.  Continuity is key to having a fun experience with math.  Please note that this session is now full. We will be glad to place your child on a wait-list for this session, or for future sessions. Just let us know.
