Summer Reading Program Thursday Activities 2017

Come visit on a Thlegoursday Morning! We have “Triple Ticket Trivia”.  Answer a question and get 3 tickets!

From 9:45-10:30AM on June 29,  July 13 and July 20 and August 10 we have Sit, Stay, Read. Practice reading with a Listening Dog.

From 9:45-10:30AM on July 6, July 27 and August 3 we have Reading Buddies. Stop in to practice your reading with a teen.

Come build something fun from 11:00AM- 12:00PM on June 29, July 13, July 20, July 27 and August 10. We have LOTS of Legos!

Bead-n-Read July 31

Join Lisa for a Bead-n-Read program Monday July 31 from 2:00 to 4:00PM. This program is for grades 3+. We will be making a Chan Luu inspired bracelet with Tila Beads. All supplies are provided by the library. Just show up ready to learn! While you are beading you will be listening to an audio book!

Pajama Story Time with Stuffie Sleepover August 1

 

 Pajama Story Time with stuffie sleepover Tuesday August 1 from 5:30 to 6:30PM.
Wear your jammies, bring a stuffed animal and have a blast! Leave your stuffie for a library sleepover. Pick up your stuffie in the morning and have a light breakfast at 9:45AM, before our  10:00AM storytime.Sign-up is required for this program, so stop by the youth department to sign up!

Minecraft- Summer Reading Program

Come to our new program!  Our Minecraft group will meet on Fridays July 7, July 21, and August 4 from 2:00 to 2:45PM. Bring your own laptop and a Minecraft account for an afternoon of Minecraft with friends. Sign-up is required for this program.

The Hampstead Stage Company Proudly Presents Beauty and the Beast July 25

 

 We are pleased to welcome back The Hampstead Stage Company! This year they will present Beauty and the Beast. The show is on Tuesday July 25 at 6:30PM.

From their website: Beauty and the Beast is the French fairy tale of a selfless young woman, Beauty, who takes her father’s place as prisoner in a castle far away. Upon arrival, she meets the owner of the castle who appears to be a terrifying Beast. As time progresses, Beauty and the Beast begin to get to know not only each other, but also themselves. In this heartwarming, yet humorous tale, discover the power of being yourself and what it means to listen to your heart.  Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Dumbledore’s Army – Harry Potter Club July 11

DumbledoreShhhhhhhh….don’t tell Umbridge or Filch about this…or you’ll break out in SNEAK spots!

Dumbledore’s Army will meet once during the summer, on Tuesday July 11th from 6:00 to 7:30PM. (We will then resume our regular schedule in September)

This  group meets in the room of requirement to do Harry Potter-related crafts, eat HP-related foods, watch movies, discuss books, do read-alouds, have trivia nights, read and/or write fan-fic…whatever we can think up related to the Wizarding World!  All Ages are welcome!

Teen Program July 5 – Build a Bookish Place

Teens: we will meet on Wednesday July 5 from 4:00 to 5:30PM to “Build a Bookish Place”. Come design your favorite book setting from recycled materials.

Harry Potter “20” Party

We are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of the  first Harry Potter book on Thursday June 29 from 3:00 to 6:00PM. We will have lots of fun activities–don’t miss it! We will have games and trivia with prizes! We are requesting that you please bring Harry Potter themed snacks to share. Sign-up is required for this event, so please call or stop by the desk!
