Teen Writer’s Workshop June 21st

Due to a specific request, we’re giving this workshop a go!
Grades 6+ may join us to share writing, or just to critique what others have brought to the table. Our next meeting is Tuesday June 21st from 6:30pm -7:30pm.

 

Star Wars Movie Marathon June 23 and June 24

Star warsStar Wars Movie Marathon Thursday June 23rd  9:00am-4:30pm and Friday June 24th 8:30am – 6:45pm. Two Glorious Days of Star Wars!
The Youth department be showing all 7 films over the 2 days. Craft/Light Saber Duel/ Origami included between films. We will provide lunch Thursday, and you are invited to bring your own on Friday.

No age restriction, but keep in mind that some of the films are PG-13. Parents keep in mind that only children age 8+ may be left in the library without supervision. Please check the content of the film to be sure that it is appropriate for your child. Let us know if you have any questions.

 

 

 

Bead-n-Read

I've got a secretBead-n-Read is a new program in the Youth Department! During each session we will do a beading craft while listening to an audio book. This program is for ages 8+ (Grades 3+). This photo is an example of one of our previous projects!

There will be 4 separate sessions: Tuesday July 5th from 6:00 – 8:00PM; Monday July 18th from 2:00 – 4:00PM; Monday August 1st and Thursday August 11th from 2:00 – 4:00PM. Space is limited to 6 in each group. Sign-up is REQUIRED  (so I have enough supplies for everyone – thanks!)

Dumbledore’s Army – Harry Potter Club July 12th

Dumbledore’s Army next meets on Tuesday July 12th at 6:30PM. Please note that our June and July sessions will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of  the month. All Ages are welcome!

This once-a-month group meets in the room of requirement to do Harry Potter-related crafts, eat HP-related foods, watch movies, discuss books, do read-alouds, have trivia nights, read and/or write fanfic…whatever we can think up related to the Wizarding World!  I assure you, it will be a blast!

Chess Pro Michael Sullivan will be here from 4:15 – 5:15 to present fun chess activities and teach kids how to play. We are pleased that we will be continuing this program throughout the summer on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Harry Potter 24 Hour Readathon July 28-29

WOW!! We areharry-potter-series having a 24-hour live streaming, read aloud marathon from 9:30AM Friday July 28th until to 9:30AM Saturday July 29th! We are celebrating the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on July 31st.

Call stop in or call today to sign-up for half hour increments. More information is available in the Youth Department.

School Early Release Day Program Wednesday May 18th

CreedSchool has Early Release on  Wednesday May 18th. We will be showing the movie Creed in the Community Room. The Wednesday movie we usually show for adults has been selected for the early release so that our youth can attend. This movie is rated PG-13*, runs for 133 minutes & begins at 1:00PM.

Adonis Johnson never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there’s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa. Once in a City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky down and asks him to be his trainer.
