Teen SRP End of Summer Party August 2

We are celebrating the end of our summer teen program with a party on Wednesday August  2 from 4:00 to 5:30PM.

We will have pizza and games and the raffle drawing! Join us!

Minecraft- Summer Reading Program

Come to our new program!  Our Minecraft group will meet on Fridays July 7, July 21, and August 4 from 2:00 to 2:45PM. Bring your own laptop and a Minecraft account for an afternoon of Minecraft with friends. Sign-up is required for this program.

Teen Book-n-Reel Night July 21

YAttitudes is our teen book club for students in grade 6 and up. We are having a “YAttitudes Book-n-Reel Book and Movie night” on Friday July 21 at  5:00PM. We will read The Book Thief  by Markus Zuzak and then get together to watch the  the movie The Book Thief (and eat pizza and popcorn)! The movie is rated PG13, and runs for 131 minutes. Books will be available in the Youth Department. This event is for students in grades 6+. The program will end at about 8:30PM.

Teen SRP Build the Community: Service Project July 12

For Teens: Build the Community: Service Project will meet Wednesday July 12. We will be making cards and writing letters for the residents at Webster at Rye.  Stop by anytime between 6:00 and 7:30 to make a card or two!

Dumbledore’s Army – Harry Potter Club July 11

DumbledoreShhhhhhhh….don’t tell Umbridge or Filch about this…or you’ll break out in SNEAK spots!

Dumbledore’s Army will meet once during the summer, on Tuesday July 11th from 6:00 to 7:30PM. (We will then resume our regular schedule in September)

This  group meets in the room of requirement to do Harry Potter-related crafts, eat HP-related foods, watch movies, discuss books, do read-alouds, have trivia nights, read and/or write fan-fic…whatever we can think up related to the Wizarding World!  All Ages are welcome!

Teen Program July 5 – Build a Bookish Place

Teens: we will meet on Wednesday July 5 from 4:00 to 5:30PM to “Build a Bookish Place”. Come design your favorite book setting from recycled materials.

Harry Potter “20” Party

We are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of the  first Harry Potter book on Thursday June 29 from 3:00 to 6:00PM. We will have lots of fun activities–don’t miss it! We will have games and trivia with prizes! We are requesting that you please bring Harry Potter themed snacks to share. Sign-up is required for this event, so please call or stop by the desk!

Active T(w)een Yoga Class with Carla Cole

Carla Cole is offering a pilot program at RPL inviting teens/tweens to begin yoga practice. She is a certified instructor and offers the program free of charge.

This fun and active yoga class will work with movement and breath. It is designed for tweens and teens to get moving and learn ways to bring more calm to your days and empowering you to become more self-aware and self confident.

Sessions will take place in the CMR for May on Wednesdays at 3:15. Dates are May 3,10, 17 & 24. Please bring a yoga mat and a smile!
