Our meeting this month will be Tuesday May 14th from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the Rye Junior High.
This month, teens and parents (if they choose to attend) will be discussing The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. When Sir Charles Baskerville is murdered, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson investigate the eerie Howling on the moors.

Our March meeting will be held on March 12th, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the Rye Junior High Library.
This month we will be discussing Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. In 1941, fifteen-year-old Lina, her mother and brother are pulled from their Lithuanian home by Soviet guards and sent to Siberia, where her father is sentenced to death in a prison camp while she fights for her life, vowing to honor her family and the thousands like hers by burying her story in a jar on Lithuanian soil. Based on the author’s family, includes a historical note.

Our February meeting will be held on Tuesday the 12th from 7:00 to 8:00 PM here in the YA room.
This month, teens and parents (if they choose to attend) will be discussing Zazoo by Richard Mosher. Zazoo is a young French girl of Vietnamese descent who lives beside a canal in rural France with her adoptive grandfather, Grand-Pierre. At first she knows little about her own or Grand-Pierre’s past, but a chance meeting with a 16-year-old Parisian boy starts her on a journey of discovery. Zazoo learns of Grand-Pierre’s morally ambiguous role in the French resistance and as a soldier in Vietnam and why he has not spoken to the town’s pharmacist for many years. Ultimately, the characters come to understand more fully the toll that the war has taken on each of them.

This month, teens and parents (if they choose to attend) will be discussing Wonder by R.J. Palacio. We meet the second Tuesday of the month from 7:00 to 8:00 PM either in the YA room here, or at the Junior High. Our January meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 8th at the Rye Junior High Library.
Ten-year-old Auggie Pullman, who was born with facial abnormalities, and was not expected to survive, goes from being home-schooled to entering fifth grade at a private school in Manhatten, which entails the taunting and fear of his classmates as he struggles to be seen as just another student.

We meet the second Tuesday of the month from 7:00 to 8:00 PM either in the YA room here, or at the Junior High. Our December meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 18th here in the Youth Department.**Please note that this is a new date (previously scheduled on Tuesday the 11th).
