The resources linked below offer professionally curated database collections for research.  Using these resources is not analogous to an internet search, as authentication and review of the sources and content offered by these databases is strictly conducted and assured by the provider.  Use of these databases is normally offered to the public at a fee .  No cost use of these resources is a benefit of your Rye Public Library membership.  Please contact us for any research assistance you might require.

Academic Search Premier
Provides full text for more than 3,600 journals covering the social sciences, humanities, general science, multi-cultural studies, education, and much more. This database is updated on a daily basis.

MAS Ultra: School Edition
Provides full text for over 515 general interest and current events magazines.

MasterFile Premier
Provides full text for over 1,900 periodicals covering nearly all subjects including general reference, business, health, and much more.

EBSCO Animals
Provides in-depth information on a variety of topics relating to animals. The database consists of indexing, abstracts, and full text records describing the nature and habitat of familiar animals.

Middle Search Plus
Provides full text for over 145 magazines covering general topics appropriate for middle school students.

Primary Search
Provides full text for 57 children’s magazines and over 100 children’s pamphlets, designed for the elementary school student.

TOPICsearch

Provides resources to explore social, political and economic issues, scientific discoveries and other popular topics discussed in today’s classrooms. This current events database includes more than 400,000 full-text articles selected by teachers and librarians, an online dictionary, and more than 2,500 diverse reference sources including newspapers, biographies, opinion polls, book reviews and government information.

Searchasaurus
A colorful, easy-to-use search interface for elementary and middle school students. It includes Primary Search and Middle Search Plus as well as EBSCO Animals and Funk and Wagnell’s New World Encyclopedia.
