This group meets every Monday at 9:30 AM in the Community Meeting Room.  Practice seated breathing, joint warm-ups, stretches and postures with expert facilitation .

Rye resident and community volunteer Amelia McKenney leads the Chair Yoga program at Rye Public Library. With 25 years of yoga practice, a nursing degree, 1,500 hours of training at the Kripalu Institute, and a life-long athletic lifestyle, Amelia is well qualified to guide this unique practice.   Each member enjoys an interview to ascertain their health history and identify any individual limitations.  Safety and comfort are key to Amelia’s approach to the meditation, prana yama breathing, joint warm-ups, stretches and postures that make up the Chair Yoga session.   Sessions run for 90 minutes starting at 9:30am on Monday mornings at Rye Public Library.
