2020 Summer Reading Schedule

June – August 4th 2020
Attending meetings and logging reading will earn attendees entrees into the end of summer grand prize drawing of two Kindle Fires! Yep! There will be TWO winners this year! For detailed information on our summer reading activities, please register for our newsletter by emailing Jess with your full name and email.

How to register for summer reading:
We are using Beanstack, an awesome website and phone app that allows you to log reading, track activities, earn badges and prizes! You can register for summer reading HERE.

How we are holding programs:
We will be holding our summer reading programs via Zoom! Please email our Contact email for the links! During the programs, we will give you secret codes to enter into your Beanstack account, and you’ll earn entries for the grand prize drawing!

Book club will meet via Zoom! Join us to discuss some awesome books and chat with fellow teens.

Tuesday, June 30 6:00pm
Join us for a teen trivia night! Questions will span across a wide variety of genres. We will be using Kahoot, so it will be best for you to have a phone/tablet and a separate computer to read the questions!

Squam Lakes Natural Science Center Animal Presentation
Join us on Tuesday, July 14 at 6:00pm for a wonderful animal presentation! Experts from Squam Lakes will share stories and feature live animals! All ages welcome!

Wildlife Encounters!
Tuesday, August 4th 6:00 – 7:00pm
Join Wildlife Encounters as they deliver the summer reading finale animal program! They’ll introduce viewers to live animals and teach us about them. All ages welcome!

RPL Writers’ Group
RPL teen and adult writers’ group will meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30pm.

Summer Story Time!
Join Marcia every Thursday at 10:30am! She’ll read books, sing songs, and teach you how to make a fun craft. All ages welcome! View July calendar and Sign up

Summer Tutoring
Marcia Beckett will be holding tutoring sessions every Monday at 10:00am via Zoom! Session content and age groups will vary. For specific content or to register please email our contact email . You will need the Zoom link prior to the registration date!

Literary Legos – Wednesday, July 1st, 4pm-4:30pm, 5pm-5:30
Join us for a Lego-building adventure! We’ll read part of a mystery book in our first session to inspire you, and then break for half an hour for construction time. When you tune back in, you’ll have a chance to show off your bookish building skills, and to check out others’ “storied” structures. All ages welcome!

Cupcake Competition – Wednesday, July 8th from 4-5pm
Cupcake decorating— tune in to decorate cupcakes with other library patrons! Prebake your canvases, and prepare to dazzle with your confections. All ages welcome!

Murder in Gemini Harbor: A Roleplaying Adventure– Wednesday, July 22nd, 4pm-5:45pm
A sleepy town in the Olympic Peninsula has more going on than meets the eye. Nestled between the National Forest and the endless Pacific, its foggy streets conceal something supernatural. A prominent member of the community has been found murdered, and a ragtag group of people unite to find his killer. But what they do in the shadows may have a far greater role to play in this story than anyone imagines… join us on July 22nd for a one-shot roleplaying adventure, and help solve the mystery of the Murder in Gemini Harbor. All ages welcome!
