This year’s Summer Reading Program theme is Libraries Rock! Our youth department has been working diligently on creating a rocking summer program. Many of our special programs are sign-up, so make sure to check out all our special events, including our kick-off with Norman Ng , Wildlife Encounters on July 24th, and our culminating program this year, back by popular demand, an ice cream social/ pet show! We really hope you can come to these fun events! Please sign up early by calling 964-8401. These programs have been generously sponsored by The Friends of the Rye Public Library.
We will be having our popular trivia questions for prizes each week, as well as drop-in crafts and the guessing jar!
The drop down “Clubs and Groups” has information about our weekly youth books club: The Losers Club Book Club, named for The Losers Club, a book by Andrew Clements. The book club is for students in grades 3-6, and meets every Monday from 2:30-3:15PM during our Summer Reading Program!
You will also find information about bead clubs, Legos, the Happy Planner Club, and Dumbledore’s Army.
Fridays is our Story Time day. Mother Goose on the Loose is for babies through age 2 at 10:00 AM, and Story Time for toddlers and preschoolers meets at 11:00AM. All ages are welcome at these programs. New this summer are two baby yoga programs. Please note that we will not be having yoga this summer, but would like to have you notify us with interest in future programs.
The drop down “Movie Matinees” shows our weekly Friday family movies.
Parents, remember, only children aged 8+ may be left in the library without supervision.
LIBRARIES DO ROCK!! We look forward to seeing you this summer!
