We are extremely proud to report that in this unusual year of library service, RPL Assistant Director/Collections Manager Lisa Houde has risen above the fray and anchored the Rye Public Library legacy of excellence within the New Hampshire Library community! The Ann Geisel Award of Merit is given annually by the NHLA to an individual, group or organization that has made significant contributions to the New Hampshire library community. On Friday October 16th Lisa received this singular honor in recognition of her many contributions to her avocation and colleagues.
The Award recognizes librarians that have contributed to the New Hampshire Library Association (NHLA) or the New Hampshire library community by improving all New Hampshire libraries through their efforts as library professionals, providing library services or advocating for library issues within and beyond the state level.
The Geisel award is named in the memory of Ann Geisel (1947-1999) for her personification of “distinguished service to the New Hampshire library community.” Lisa certainly carries this heritage forward. The award is granted on the vote of the NHLA Executive Committee based upon candidates recommended by the Awards Committee.
Congratulations Lisa! We are proud of and honored by your success.
